Design Me My Gift Shop was created by myself Lynn Oakes. Having had previous experience co-owning an online childrens clothing website and brand & product Design, it enabled me to both run a business and to carry on designing. I designed the website then added the gifts! A Graphic, Product & Brand Designer, I am in love with shapes, typography and bold colours, you will see this throughout my site!
I decided I wanted to design all of my products and keep my manufacturers British too, whilst it may be more costly it is humbling to know I can join skills with other small UK business and produce goods! So I scoured local and beyond to find companies with cool products to adorn my designs with and from there Design Me My took off – collaborating with them has been a joy and they are all very accommodating!
I never stop looking for new products to put my designs on – Along the way I have encountered some new and inspiring designers in their fields – it is due to this that I am expanding the site as I go, collaborating with these designers to introduce new ranges, these
include ranges I have designed or products of other designers I have liked on my travels. I primarily like to interpret my own design, however some items are entirely the work of the Artists or Designers themselves. If you are interested in collaboration it would be great to bang heads – give me a yell! I do sell a few rogue products in my site but you will still struggle to see them in the shops, why? because I know they sell and they bring traffic to my site and opens up the eyes of individuals which may not have known such pretty gifts existed – have you ever heard of sushi cushions until just now?
The site has took off since it was launched in September 2010 and design me my are the no.1 online seller of Football snoods and snoods and ship worldwide to several countries weekly. Due to the success in this field I have designed a range of snoods and accessories that are currently in production
for the market. We can also design and manufacture for you!
In the one year since Design Me My was born, we have appeared in Magazines, Newspapers and our products have made the odd fleeting TV appearance. We have supplied premiership footballers with snoods, top journalists and sports broadcasters and we have had celebs and public alike buying our wonderful gifts and returning back for more! I have taken on freelancers to help with the jobs I don’t have time or experience to do and I am currently recruiting Brand Representatives to help drive certain parts of the business forward.
